The Chinatown annual Lights Up is not just an event; it's a mesmerizing affair that brings together tradition, innovation, and the warm spirit of the lunar new year.

#1 Chinatown Main Dragon Lantern


Chinatown Main Dragon Lantern

At the junction of Upper Cross Street and New Bridge Road, be captivated by the centerpiece of Chinatown's lights – the majestic dragon lantern.


This symbol of prosperity hovers above a treasure trove of ingots, gold coins, orange trees, and snapdragon flowers, embodying the growth and wealth of Singapore.


Did you know that the annual design project of Chinatown lights up is skillfully crafted by talented SUTD students? Despite some online criticism, we, as proud SUTD alumni, applaud our juniors for their creativity and dedication.

#2 Festive Fairs and Workshops


Festive Fairs and Workshops

The lights aren't the only stars of Chinatown's festive season. The annual festive fairs are back! Dive into a festive extravaganza with workshops where you and your kiddos can craft adorable pineapple plushies, symbolizing luck and wealth. Street performances add an extra dash of joy, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for families and friends.
